Grundy Hall Renovation Project — Expanding Access and Collaboration in Healthcare Education
The $21 million renovation of Grundy Hall will create a high-tech, high-touch, and high-quality experiential learning center. Grundy Hall will be redesigned from the “ground up” to anticipate and meet the future science and healthcare needs of the Cedar Valley.
Renovation is scheduled to be completed by fall 2023.
Trends
Health sciences are among the fastest-growing career fields in the state of Iowa and throughout the United States. Projections through the next decade anticipate demand for these critical occupations will continue to grow.
New career opportunities such as medical assisting and patient care access professionals have emerged locally. In response, the College has created new academic and training programs.
Rural communities throughout the Hawkeye Community College service area are experiencing shortages of emergency medical responders. Hawkeye’s expanded training and outreach are intended to meet these growing needs.
